ABOUT WILD VOICE

  • We believe trust between coach and student is the foundation of learning. That’s why we begin by meeting each child right where they are, identifying their strengths, and giving them ownership of their goals. When a child feels safe, they often take more risks, grow in confidence, and express themselves more fully. Music is rooted in joy, connection, and self-expression.

  • Wild Voice emphasizes healthy vocal habits and foundational skills, such as proper breathing, posture, and vocal care. Classical voice training is outside our scope — for younger singers it can be developmentally inappropriate, and for older students we recommend working with a specialist trained in classical pedagogy.

  • Each session is tailored to your child’s unique interests and needs. Whether they love musicals, pop songs, or improvising melodies, we guide them in developing their voice while exploring music in ways they enjoy.

  • Sessions often go beyond singing! Your child will engage in music play, improvisation, music history, character work, songwriting, and performance preparation, all designed to nurture their innate musicality and creativity.

  • Above all, our goal is for your child to feel safe, supported, and inspired as they connect with their voice and the music they love.

Music has been Wendy's first and greatest love since childhood. Singing since the age of three, she has spent a lifetime immersed in music — performing in choirs, ensembles, and musical theater, and leading as a singer-songwriter in her own bands. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, she plays piano, guitar, mandolin, percussion, and drums, gained through a mix of formal training and self-taught exploration.

As a master's-level Music Therapist, Wendy has worked for years in meaningful roles, including supporting children with cancer, working with individuals with disabilities, and directing an integrated special needs choir. She has also taught as an early childhood classroom teacher and early childhood music specialist, where she developed her deep instinct for meeting children exactly where they are.

Most recently, Wendy has music directed six youth musical theater productions — including Alice in Wonderland, Frozen Jr., and Shrek Jr. — guiding casts of singers from age 8 through 18 through auditions, vocal training, ensemble work, and full production.

Combining formal education with a deeply intuitive approach, Wendy brings a wealth of experience to guiding young singers within a safe and encouraging exploratory environment.
